Naples, the third largest city in Italy, overpowers every sense. The hustle and bustle of the constant traffic, the crumbling ancient buildings, the views of the sea promising a coast line of immense beauty and the aromas of a city full of energy. Naples is not orderly but it is this chaotic charm that make it Italy's unkempt beauty.

Naples is full of ancient buildings, cafés and whizzing scooters. It has more ancient churches than any other city and wandering around the centre you will come across most of them including the Cappella di San Gennaro, one of Naples’ most prized churches. The Ospedale delle Bambole (the dolls’ hospital) is an interesting diversion if a little unusual, while the Archaeological Museum has a extensive collection of Greco-Roman artefacts.

Castel Nuovo was the old residence of Charles I and now holds the Museo Civico, while Palazzo Reale (wherein there is the Museo del Palazzo Reale) has a lovely collection of furnishings, tapestries and paintings. Other places of interest are the Castel dell’Ovo (situated on an small island off Santa Lucia), Castel Sant’Elmo (from which there amazing views across the city) and Villa Floridiana, a beautiful villa and park.
